Puerto Rico's Manny Siaca, a former WBA 168-pound champion, is now competing in the middleweight division and he wants a shot at the WBA king, Felix Sturm, who defends his title against Martin Murray on December 2 in Germany. Siaca, with a record of 22-7 with 19 knockouts, returns on October 7 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. The card is being promoted by PR Best Boxing. If Siaca is unable to secure a fight with Sturm, he's willing to drop down even further, to 154, to target WBA "super" champion Miguel Cotto and WBA "regular" champion Austin Trout.
"I hope to give everyone a good show, be victorious [on October 7] and then return on December 2, and then fight with Sturm in March of 2012. If all goes well, then I'll drop even lower to 154-pounds for Miguel Cotto or Austin Trout. Cotto is the super champion, and if he beats [Antonio] Margarito then it would be better [for me] because everything would go smooth [with the negotiations]. But if I had to fight with Margarito, I'm sure I would do it," Siaca said.
