Duran Hill, Chris Green and Sting Like A Bee Promotions, in conjunction with Steve ‘Match Makin’ Mestas and Airtight Boxing, would like to announce the WBF Lightweight title bout between Manny “Manos” Perez and DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley. The bout will take place on May 16th, live from the fabulous PT’s Show Club in Denver, Colorado.
After a intense battle on a Facebook status, both fighters respectfully agreed to meet one another in the ring, “All I know about Perez is that he fought Victor Ortiz,” stated Corley. Duran Hill stated, “I’m honored that a fighter of Corley’s caliber is appearing on the card. I’m even more honored that Perez immediately accepted the offer. Personally, I cannot wait.”
Corley (42-22-1, 25 KO’s), 40, comes to us from the hardened streets of Washington, DC. Corley is a veteran of the fight game having fought numerous World Champions and future Hall of Famers including, Mayweather, Cotto, Judah, Alexander, Maidana, Mattyhsee, and Provodnikov.
Corley, the former WBO Jr. Welterweight champion, took a moment before heading to the gym where he is serving as a sparring partner for Mayweather, to talk about how the fight came about, “I met Duran at the WBC convention and have been in contact with him ever since. I’m glad Perez accepted the challenge and I’m coming to knock him out,” stated a confident Corley.
Corley wants the Colorado fight fans to expect an exciting performance and a meet and greet opportunity before and after the fight.
Tickets will go on sale next Thursday ranging from $20-$55. Private cabanas can be purchased for $1200 which include free food and drinks.
