IT’S final. Manny Pacquiao is running.

Pacquiao’s certificate of candidacy for the congressional seat of South Cotabato has been filed in the provincial capitol of Koronadal.

The certificate of candidacy, which was signed by Pacquiao, was filed by his lawyer Franklin “Jing” Gacal, who told Viva Sports/Standard Today that all the doubts were over and the Filipino ring idol is now a candidate against incumbent Rep. Darlene Antonino Custodio, who is seeking a third term.

The opposition lawmaker comes from a respected political family and is regarded as a smart, intelligent and charming lady and a prominent member of the opposition.

But Gacal expressed confidence that Pacquiao’s incredible popularity will overcome the political machinery of Custodio.

“Pacquiao is gaining ground and believe it or not, as of today, Manny already has the upperhand,” said Gacal. “We’re hoping for the best and everything is okay.”

At the same time, Gacal said there was nothing to worry about after Pacquiao was forced to cut short his training after suffering a small cut while sparring.
