Just when every super featherweight moved up to lightweight to chase Manny Pacquiao, they have to move up a little further. Pacquiao is jumping from 135 to 147 for the fight with Oscar De La Hoya on December 6. After the fight, win or lose, Pacquiao will drop down to 140 and probably try to land a fight with Ricky Hatton. During the last year, Joan Guzman, Juan Manuel Marquez and Edwin Valero jumped to lightweight in search of Pacquiao, who only fought once at the weight.

"I think my plan right now … I’m going back to 140," Pacquiao said.

He views a De La Hoya win as a historic event. If he loses, he won't blame his trainer Freddie Roach - a remark that points to De La Hoya who changes trainers all the time and blames many of them for his shortcomings in the ring.

"Well for me I never blame my trainer in my boxing career - I never blame my trainer if I lose. I’m just blaming myself because in training, you know what you’re doing you can suggest to your trainer that we’re going to do this, do that because this is his style and I think this is good for the fight. I don’t think you need to blame your trainer," Pacquiao said.
