While fighters like Juan Diaz, Juan Manuel Marquez and Joel Casamayor are calling him out, Manny Pacquiao is hitting the books. He attended his first class as a freshman, taking a business administration course on Friday at the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University in General Santos City, Philippines.
“I am here as one of the students, not a boxer,” said Pacquiao, who gained cheers from fellow students when he arrived at the campus before 11 am.
Pacquiao immediately joined his fellow students in a university orientation program where he sang one of his hit songs from an album released in the country.
Later in the day, professors of the Catholic institution run by the Marist Brothers or FMS personally briefed Pacquiao on the grading system and the school rules.
Pacquiao plans to take six to seven subjects this semester. One month from now, Pacquiao will take his first examinations. Pacquiao says that he is determined to finish his studies and gain a degree.
