Former World Boxing Council flyweight champion Chatchai Sasakul who lost his title to Filipino ring idol and national treasure Manny Pacquiao in December 1998 by an eighth- round knockout has praised Pacquiao as “fearless, kind hearted and with the heart of a champion.”
Sasakul made the comments to well-known WBC ringside physician Dr. Allan Recto who was assigned by WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman for the Sasakul title fight against the classy WBC/WBA super flyweight champion Cristian Mijares in Mexico over the weekend.
In an email to insidesports.ph, Manila Standard and Viva Sports, Dr. Recto said he gave Sasakul a copy of Ring Magazine with Pacquiao on the cover and the Thai received it “with a smile on his face.”
