Unlike their first bout, Manny Pacquiao (40-3-1, 31 KOs) made the proper adjustments, and Erik Morales (48-3, 34 KOs) was unable to adjust.

In the first round started with both men are jabbing, Morales was getting the better of the round with his jab and began landing hard shots on Pacquiao.

In the second, Pacquiao took over and began unleashing hard combinations to the body and head of Morales. A hard left hand almost sent Morales down to the canvas, but Morales was able to grab the ropes to hold himself up. Morales was able to get himself back in the fight in the early rounds by using his jab to keep Pacquiao at bay.

As the fight went on, it appeared that Morales was getting very tired, which enabled Pacquiao to catch him with very hard punches to the head and body.

In the sixth round, Pacquiao began to visibly dominate the fight as Morales was not able to get away from the punches. The nose of Morales was broken by way of Pacquiao right hook. Between the seventh and eight round, Morales complained to his corner that his legs were very tired.

By the tenth and final round, Morales was a fighter fighting only on heart, his body was gone. A hard body - followed by a left hand to head sent Morales crumbling to the canvas. Morales was able to beat the count, but Pacquiao jumped on him with a variety of power shots. An accumulation of those punches sent Morales down for the second time in the fight, referee Kenny Bayless jumped in to stop the fight at 2:33 of the round.

At the time of the stoppage, Pacquiao was leading the fight on all three of the scorecards. The scores were 86-85. 87-84 and 87-84.

There is a rematch clause in the contract, Pacquiao said that he would be willing to face Morales again.

"I would give him the rematch. Anytime, anywhere - I will fight him", said Pacquiao.

The problem with making a third bout is the fact that the bout must be held at 130 pounds, which Morales may not be able to reach.

"It was very hard for me to make 130 pounds. I was just tired from making the weight. I did not make the weight in over a year and it was very hard. I don't know if I could make the weight for a rematch. He hit very hard, I was very tired. I just need to take some time off", said Morales.

Pacquiao becomes the only man to knockout both Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales. It was very apparent that Pacquiao was the fresher, stronger man in the ring, as he was able to push Morales back - the opposite of their first bout where Morales was pushing Pacquiao back.

There is only one fight left for Manny Pacquiao, a rematch with the IBF/WBC super featherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera. Pacquiao stopped Barrera in 2003, a rematch has been discussed since the loss, but never materialized to date.

The money for Pacquiao-Barrera 2 would be a huge, considering the fact that both are at the top of their game. At the moment, Pacquiao looks unstoppable. Barrera has a fight scheduled for March, the opponent is not set in stone, but at some point during the year he must come to the decision of once again facing Manny Pacquiao.

On the undercard,

WBA super flyweight champion Martin Castillo (30-1, 16 KOs) retained his title by way of a split decision over the very game Alexander Munoz (28-2, 26 KOs). This was a return bout and fireworks exploded all over the place. Munoz was the fighter Castillo originally beat to win his title

Castillo went down in the very first round as a result of a hard shot on the button from Munoz. The knockdown was the start of both men fighting toe to toe from start to finish. In the fight round, a clash of heads opened up a cut over the right eye. In the sixth round, another clash of heads opened up a cut under the left eye of Castillo.

The eight round saw a hard right hand stun Castillo badly, but he was able to escape the round. The right eye of Munoz was almost swollen shut by round nine. Final scores were 115-112 Munoz, 115-112 for Castillo and 116-111 Castillo.
Featherweight Juan Manuel Lopez (9-0, 9 KOs) squashed Jose Luis Caro (10-4-1, 9 KOs). Caro was dropped in the second round and the third. In the third round Caro did not beat the count. Lopez picks up his ninth knockout in nine fights.

Middleweight Jose Luis Zertuche (18-2-2, 13 KOs) decisioned late sub Marcos Primera (19-13-2, 12 KOs) in a very boring contest.

Primera tried coasting for most of the fight, he opened up in the final round and was dropped in the closing moments, but was able to beat the count. The score were 100-89, 100-89, 100-88.

In a battle of fringe welterweights, Juan Pablo Montes (6-8-1) and Ramon Montano (9-4-1) battled to a six round draw.
