A battle of junior featherweight prospects was made official as “Gucci” Manny Flores and Jorge Chavez successfully made weight for their main event bout Thursday night at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino in Indio, California.

Flores, a local favorite from Coachella, California, received loud cheers from his hometown fans as he hit the scales at 121.8lbs. Chavez, billed from San Diego, came in slightly lighter at 121.6lbs.

Flores, 20-1 (16 KOs), is on a five-fight knockout streak since his lone career defeat to Walter Santibanes in 2023. Flores, 26, last fought in March, stopping Jorge Leyva in the fourth round, which took place at Fantasy Springs. Four of Flores’ recent five wins have come at this venue.

Chavez, 14-0 (8 KOs), enters with an undefeated record and an April unanimous decision victory over Brandon Douglas. Chavez, a year younger than Flores at 25 years old, will be fighting in his first 10-round fight of his career. He has fought in scheduled eight-round bouts three times prior, with two of them going to the final bell.

The card will stream on DAZN and is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
