The talk of the UK is a possible super middleweight fight between top contender Carl Froch and WBA/IBO 160-pound champion Gennady Golovkin.
The dangerous middleweight is ready for the battle, but Froch has yet to make a decision on whether he plans to fight again. Froch has been inactive since last May's knockout of George Groves in their rematch before a crowd of 80,000 fans.
As a fan, former two-division world champion Paulie Malignaggi is very excited about the fight potentially taking place. But as a fighter, he wonders if Froch should avoid such a risk and walk away at the right time like his countrymen Lennox Lewis and Joe Calzaghe.
"From a personal standpoint, from Carl Froch's standpoint, you wonder if Froch should take the Mayweather route where he just beat Pacquiao and is going to slide off into the sunset instead of fighting the Amir Khans and the Kell Brooks of the world. You think about the same thing with Carl Froch, does he take on the big gun like Gennady Golovkin or does he fade off into the sunset with a farewell fight so to speak. From a fan point of view, I would love to see Froch vs. Golovkin, it's an amazing fight with amazing possibilities, but I sometimes question whether Froch needs it or not," Malignaggi said on Sky Sports.
