Malignaggi-Moscatiello To Battle For Vacant EU Title

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, former two-division world champion Paulie Malignaggi will now take on Italian contender Antonio Mosciatello on December 12 in London. The fight was made after EBU welterweight champion Gianluca Branco withdrew.

However, Malignaggi and Mosciatello will fight for the EU title after the co-challengers for the vacant belt withdrew.

As for the Branco fight, well, Italian website boxeringweb.net have a story today where he claims he withdrew from the fight mid-November due to an injury and that everyone involved, including Team Malignaggi, knew about this.

The card on Saturday is headlined by a heavyweight explosion between undefeated British rivals Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.
