During a recent interview, former two division world champion Paulie Malignaggi stated that Amir Khan and Keith Thurman presented more danger than Manny Pacquiao - when it came to challenging the undefeated throne of pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr., who holds the WBC/WBA world titles at welterweight and junior middleweight.
Malignaggi, like Mayweather, has always questioned Pacquiao's incredible run where he scored a series of high profile wins over several top names and most of them came by way of knockout. Pacquiao has not scored a knockout victory since 2009.
There have been rumors for years that Pacquiao was allegedly taking illegal performance enhancers. Most of those rumors were fueled by Mayweather and his family members. But Malignaggi has also been suspicious.
"He’s never looked [explosive] like that when he’s done random drug testing, so I don’t know what all the fuzz is about. At 35-years-old, you’re probably not gonna see that anyway. The fight [between him and Mayweather] doesn’t really tickle my fancy like it does for some other people. I think Amir Khan and Keith Thurman beat Pacquiao and I think they have a more than an above average chance to beat Floyd Mayweather as well, this current Floyd Mayweather anyway," Malignaggi told On The Ropes Boxing Radio .
