Former champion Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31KOs) is annoyed with the allegations being thrown around by WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs).

Mayweather claims Maidana is a very dirty fighter and tried to use several illegal tactics in their May contest. He says Maidana intentionally butted him to cause a cut above his right eye. After twelve rounds, Mayweather won a majority decision.

They are scheduled to face each other for a second time on September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Maidana says it was Mayweather who used questionable tactics in their fight. He even claims Mayweather attempted to land a "Victor Ortiz shot" - a reference to Mayweather's two punch knockout of Ortiz a few years ago. During the fight Ortiz had intentionally used his head on Mayweather. After being punished by the referee, Ortiz went over to apologize to Mayweather. After they touched gloves, Mayweather immediately fired a two punch combo, as Ortiz had his hands down and was paying more attention to the referee. Ortiz went down for the count.

"Back in May, I tried to get the attention of the referee in the eighth round because Floyd was fighting very dirty and he didn't even honor that, he tried to pull a Victor Ortiz shot on me. That's the type of fighter he is - dirty and sneaky," Maidana said.

"In all of his fights, he [Mayweather] brings his elbows out. He really likes to use his elbows. One of his moves is to put his elbow in the fighter's throat and the referee for some reason let him get away with it. We all know he [Mayweather] does whatever he wants because he has the judges in his pocket. He is a dirty fighter."
