WBA Interim Super Lightweight champion Marcos Maidana received a great news yesterday as a formal agreement was reached for the famous brand Alfajores Guaymallén (alfajores are a traditional sweet delicatessen 100% Argentinean) to become the new sponsor of “El Chino."

The Argentinean knockout artist, who since 20 days ago is training in Las Vegas  for his fight against Amir Khan next December 11th said: “I’m excited to have this new sponsor joining me.  The owners are 100% boxing people. And they prove it by supporting fighters. I really thank Guaymallén for his support, which makes me train even harder.”

Meanwhile, Hugo Basilotta, Director of Alfajores Guaymallén, said: “supporting boxing and sports in general is something very important for our company. We have done it since we started, 65 years ago. We wish ‘El Chino’ all the luck in the world for his career.”

Maidana has set his training camp in Las Vegas under the guidance of trainer Miguel Diaz, trainer assistant Cristian Rodriguez and physical conditioner Cruz “Pensa” García.

“Am I wrong or Amir Khan is already thinking of a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.? According to Khan, he had talks already about a possible bout with Mayweather in the UK. I suggest Golden Boy Promotions to start thinking of the River Plate stadium in Argentina as a venue for a fight between Mayweather and myself, instead, since I will put Amir to sleep December 11th,” Maidana said.
