LAS VEGAS --- Floyd Mayweather would not answer a question about the fact that according to CompuBox statistics Marcos Maidana landed more punches on Mayweather than any fighter has in his entire career.
Maidana connected on 221 total punches to Mayweather's 230.
Mayweather joked that Maidana landed more low blows, hit him on the thighs and hit with many illegal blows. He called Maidana "rugged," a "tough guy" and said he was just doing whatever he could to win.
Finally, Maidana appeared to be fed up.
"Enough talk," Maidana said, "just give me the (blanking) rematch."
Mayweather was obviously not expecting that answer.
"We don't even got to do that," Mayweather said. "We can take it down there right now. It can happen right now. Go put the ring back up."
In the ring after the fight, Maidana said Mayweather "has never fought a man like me."
"I said that because I felt that nobody has ever attacked him like I did and nobody's ever landed punches like I did," Maidana said. "Most of the fighters that he has fought have so much respect for him, but no, I didn't. I was always going for the fight."
After the post-fight press conference, BoxingScene.com asked Maidana if he felt disrespected by Mayweather saying he fought dirty.
"That's my style what can I say?" Maidana said. "What can I say? He can say whatever he wants. I know he felt my punches."
