BoxingScene.com has been advised that Jessie Magdaleno will be fighting again on July 16th as the headliner on 'Solo Boxeo' on UniMas on a card that will land somewhere in the Los Angeles area.
Magdaleno, who has a record of 23-0 (17 KO's) last fought on February 20th where he stopped Rey Perez in seven rounds.
Ranked number one at 122-pounds by the WBO he's hoping to secure a title shot against Nonito Donaire by the end of the year.
Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes both Magdaleno and Donaire, is interesting in making the fight if Magdanelo can prove that he is capable of making the super bantamweight limit of 122-pounds. Magdaleno's last few bouts have taken place above the limit.
Also scheduled to be on this Top Rank is highly regarded duo of welterweight, Egidijus Kavaliauskas (13-0, 11 KO's) and light heavyweight Oleksandr Gvozdyk (10-0, 8 KO's).
Kavaliauskas is making his third appearance of the year. He started off in February with a two round knockout of Prenice Brewer and then came back in April on the Pacquiao-Bradley III undercard in Las Vegas to go the eight round distance with Deniz Ilbay.
Gvozdyk is also making his third appearance of the year. He was featured on the same cards as Kavaliauskas, with a first round knockout of Mike Snider in February and then a two round destruction of former world title challenger Nadjib Mohammedi in two rounds in April.
