WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli (28-1, 21KOs) has vowed to knock WBC/WBA champ David Haye (20-1, 19KOs) out cold on March 8. Earlier today, promoter Frank Warren announced that Macca and Haye would lock up on the March date with a venue to be announced in the near future. For years, the two UK rivals have engaged in a war of words in the press.

As early as two weeks ago, Haye was planning to move back up to the heavyweight division after claiming that Macca was unwilling to meet him at a catchweight above the cruiserweight limit of 200-pounds. After a few more weeks of negotiations, the two sides were able to come to an agreement for a bout at the cruiserweight limit with all three of their titles being at stake.

Macca told IC Wales that he was begging to fight Haye for years, and can't wait to get him in the ring and smash his rival down to the floor.

"I'm desperate to get in there and just smash him to the floor with a big bang. I spent years begging Frank (Warren) for this, years and years. Even before he beat Mormeck, this was the biggest domestic fight around and that's exactly what I want to be involved in," Macca said. "He is adamant he is the best cruiserweight in the world and I'm adamant that I am. If he wants to be the best, he has to come through me. He won't get past. He will regret taking the fight."
