WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli is setting his sights on a major fight for 2008. He wants WBC/WBA champ David Haye, IBF champ Steve Cunningham or former champion O'Neil Bell. Macca's dream is to one day head to America for a big fight. He plans to return to the ring in the first quarter of 2008.
Macca says he recently met up with Haye in London, and talks for a bout were positive.
"One day I want to fight there and be the big name everyone is talking about," Maccarinelli said. "I'm hoping to be back in the ring at the end of February or early March," admitted Maccarinelli. I met up with Haye recently in London and I mentioned to him when we will get our fight on and I seemed to get a positive response. I know he has said he will step up to heavyweight so I'm not too sure what will happen there.
"But if that doesn't come off then we are looking at the likes of Cunningham, Huck or maybe O'Neill Bell, who I think is a top fighter. After that I am hoping to bring a fight to the Liberty Stadium in the summer. We will need a big fight for that one and it would be a dream stage for me to fight on."
