When lightweight contender "Hammerin'" Hank Lundy caught wind that Raymundo Beltran was making an appearance on the most recent edition of BoxingScene's official audio show The Boxing Lab, the Philadelphia native couldn't resist the urge to call in and ask for a rematch. Beltran scored an upset victory against Lundy this past July when he pulled out a majority decision.
Lundy said that the perfect time for a rematch would be November 17th on the Adrien Broner-Antonio DeMarco undercard that takes place in Atlantic City.
"We can fight on the Broner card. I'm here putting in work helping get Broner ready. He's going to bring that title back.
"I hear he (Beltran) is running his mouth. Let's see if he is man enough to fight me again. Let's see if he will step up and fight me again. I'm going back to being myself, the Mad Boxer. I'm back to being me," Lundy told The Boxing Lab.
Lundy feels that he beat himself in the Beltran fight and that a rematch would produce a different result.
"Ray Beltran can only do what I let him do. He could only hit me when I was on the ropes. When the real Hank was in there he couldn't touch me."
Lundy and Broner had previously waged a war on Twitter but are now on good terms. Lundy said its only a matter of time before he they are both on even ground.
"It's cold sh*t. You got two elite fighters. People think cuz one guy is on ESPN and the other isn't that only one guy got skills. They picked me to work with him for a reason. hHe's a champion and I'm going to be a champion. I guarantee with the work he's getting with me that he's gonna win that title," Lundy concluded.
