BoxingScene.com has been advised by a source close to the situation that Lundy-Molina is not yet a done deal for July 9. A press release was circulated earlier today announcing the fight. The deal should be finalized in the next couple days. As stated in the press release the fight will take place on ESPN Friday Night Fights, continuing their run of excellent fights this season.
On paper this should be a fantastic match up of two promising prospects. Hank Lundy is 18-0 and John Molina Jr. is 20-1 with 16 knockouts. Molina's only loss came to former world title challenger Martin Honario. The winner of this fight will be in a good position to fight one of the top ten fighters in the lightweight division.
