The biggest heavyweight fight of the year is going to have a taste of 'King Kong' - because Cuban contender Luis Ortiz is expected to return on the undercard to Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury, which takes place on December 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

"After the fight in the summer, Luis has stayed in the gym and remained there in an enviable way. We're going to remind everyone that he's still an elite boxer, the best in the division. ''

The event will be carried on Showtime Pay-Per-View and there will be a lot of eyeballs on the event - based on the fan bases and media attention for Wilder and Fury.

Because of a failed drug test related to his medication for blood pressure, Ortiz (29-1, 25 KO) could only fight once in 2017.

Ortiz has already seen action twice in 2018.

In a very exciting fight, where he was very close to pulling off an upset, Ortiz was knocked out by Wilder in their March clash at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Ortiz went down three times in the contest, before it was waved off.

He bounced back a few months later, in July, with a vicious knockout of durable contender Razvan Cojanu of Romania.

"We are just waiting for the confirmation of our opponent for that date," Caicedo added. "Otherwise, Luis is in perfect condition. He doesn't stay far away from the gym. If he is not training for himself, he comes in there and helps me with other boxers."

Caicedo, who also trains Cubans Liván Navarro and Irosvani Duvergel, leaves for Japan this Friday to accompany Juan Carlos Payano in his confrontation with Naoya Inaoue as part of the World Boxing Super Series tournament.
