Luis "Pantera" Nery is training at a great pace for his comeback in Tijuana, on June 9.
The card is being held at the Municipal Auditorium of Tijuana and will be broadcast by the Casa del Boxeo, Azteca 7.
Nery (26-0, 20 KO's) will face the experienced Filipino Jetro Pabustan (29-5-6, 9 KO's). The Mexican fighter is on a mission to recover the WBC bantamweight world title.
Nery wants to prove himself after losing his world title on the scale, when he was unable to make weight for his March rematch with Shinsuke Yamanaka in Japan.
The Mexican puncher was in full swing, by blowing out Yamanaka in two rounds - which sent the Japanese legend into retirement.
"I want to offer another great show to my people and show that I'm the best bantamweight in the world, after a lot of people criticized me for not being able to make weight in Japan. I'm going to come out with the mentality of showing that I'm a natural bantamweight, that I am the champion and that I hope to recapture my belt real quick," Nery said.
The undefeated 23-year-old warned that he's waiting for the green light from the doctor, as he has some discomfort in his left hand after hitting the elbow of a sparring partner, but he believes that there will be no problems to get into the ring on June 9.
The Operational Director of Zanfer, Guillermo Brito, has stated that Pabustan is someone that Nery is unable to overlook, because the 28-year-old boxer has more than 40 professional fights. He said the Filipino boxer is someone of great experience, he has only been knocked out on one occasion and he has been champion in both the Philippines and Asia.
Tickets are now on sale at the ticket offices of the Municipal Auditorium of Tijuana and El Foro, and online at taquillaexpress.com. with prices starting at 110 pesos for general admission.
