Saturday's scheduled fight, which featured the return of Luis 'The Craftsman' Cruz (20-2, 16 KO's), was canceled on Friday prior to the official weigh-in. Cruz was going to face Steve Trumble (12-25, 8 KO's) as part of the card - 'Future Champions' - promoted by PR Best Boxing Promotions and Top Rank in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico.

BoxingScene.com/Sport Press has learned the fight was canceled due to a potential lawsuit from Miguel Cotto Promotions. In June 2011, Cruz, who is signed locally by Miguel Cotto Promotions, entered into a co-promotional contract with Top Rank.

Cruz was reportedly released by Top Rank after losing fights to Juan Carlos Burgos and Jose Felix Jr.

PRBBP had been promoting Cruz's return for the last few weeks, but the fight was dropped on Friday after Cotto's company would not allow the boxer to compete on a card being staged by their promotional rival.
