Since turning professional in 2012 middleweight prospect, Luis Arias, has never had the opportunity to fight in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. But this Saturday night he headlines a card from the Wisconsin Center against veteran journeyman Jorge Silva.
"It feels exciting, I'm happy and blessed to have this opportunity to fight in front of my own family and friends,"said the 25-year old Arias, who is under the Roc Nation Sports banner.
"I realized once I turned pro, I realized I didn't know when I'd be able to come fight in Milwaukee. I had no idea when and as soon as it came up that I could fight at home I jumped on it. I'm just excited and I'm ready."
Arias and his team made it a point of emphasis to come back home, even to the point of turning down a television slot.
"We could've gone on Dusty Harrison's undercard, they were going to have Dusty headline and I was going to be the co-main,"explained Arias, of Harrison's date on May 13th in Washington DC, which was broadcast on BET.
"But it was either be the co-main on somebody else's hometown or come home and be the main event in my own hometown."
