According to Interbox, who promote Lucian Bute (22-0, 18KOs), the Canadian star will defend his IBF super middleweight title against mandatory challenger Librado Andrade (27-1, 21KOs) on October 24 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
In the last two-years, Bute has been making a name for himself at 168-pounds. In 2007, he won a dominating decision over Contender season 3 winner Sakio Bika, and then followed up the win by stopping Alejandro Berrio for the IBF title. In February, he pounded former champion William Joppy to stop him within ten.
Andrade is regarded as one of the toughest fighters at the weight, and his only loss came against current WBA champion Mikkel Kessler. Since the loss, Andrade has come off the deck to overpower and stop Yusaf Mack and then knocked out Robert Stieglitz to land the date with Bute.
The Andrade fight will test Bute's caliber. He could make a lot of waves in the sport with an impressive win over the iron-chinned Andrade.
