IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute was interviewed at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec, and said that "he's ready to fight the best at super middleweight." According to sources in the arena, InterBox is holding a press conference on Monday to announce his next fight on March 19. The probable opponent is Irish boxer Brian MaGee. The terms were reached for the fight.

The March date will be the first bout in Bute's exclusive contract with Showtime. The network is going to build him into fights with the best boxers at 168-pounds. Bute said there are no plans to move up in weight for a mega-bout with light heavyweight Jean Pascal. He wants to face some of the top names who are currently involved in Showtime's Super Six tournament, which the network expects to finish by the fall. After taking a few big fights at 168, Bute said he will consider a move to 175 in 2012.
