Junior welterweight Lucas Matthysse (34-3, 32KOs) is already training for a planned April ring return. Manager Mario Arano wants to position the boxer for a title shot by August or September.

Matthysse, ranked number three under the World Boxing Council, is looking for another opportunity at that title. The belt is held by Danny Garcia, who won a twelve round unanimous decision over Matthysse last year.

The WBC did order a junior welterweight final eliminator between Selcuk Aydin (26-2, 19KOs) of Turkey and Viktor Postol (24-0, 10KOs) of Ukraine. The winner would become the mandatory challenger to Garcia.

If Garcia moves up in weight, then Matthysse's manager would like to see his fighter face the Aydin-Postol winner for the vacant title. Garcia is still sticking around at 140, planning to make what could be a final defense at 140 on March 15th.
