Overseas reports indicate that undefeated junior welterweight puncher Lucas Matthysse (25-0, 23 KOs) will face former WBA champion Vivian Harris (29-3-1, 19KOs) on the January 30 undercard to Shane Mosley-Andre Berto at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
For Matthysse, Harris will be his most experienced and dangerous opponent. Matthysse has power in both hands and only one of his opponents was able to last the distance. The other non-KO win came by way of disqualification. Most of his fights have been held in Argentina.
Harris has been on the slide for the last few years with bad performances, injuries and inactivity. He was knocked out by Junior Witter in 2007. In 2008 he was nearly stopped by fringe contender Octavio Narvaez and had to get off the floor to pull out a six round stoppage. In 2009 his bout with Noe Bolanos ended in a three round no-contest after Harris was badly hurt and unable to continued from an accidental clash of heads.
