Former IBO welterweight champion Lovemore N’dou has already promised fellow-South African Chris Van Heerden a fight after he has fought British contender Kell Brook in Sheffield on June 25th. The 39 year-old hopes to regain his IBO belt and sees Van Heerden standing is his way after ‘The Heat’ won an eliminator against Bongani Mwelase last week.

Ndou (48-12-2, 31 KO’s), takes on highly-rated Brook, 25, at the Hillsborough Leisure Centre in the WBO ranked number two fighters hometown and then hopes to meet Van Heerden in the autumn (fall) to gain the chance to win back the title he thought he was wrongly stripped of.

"Technically speaking I'm still the IBO welterweight champ,” N’dou told sowetanlive.co.za.

“I was stripped of the title after I moved up a division and fought Saul Alvarez.

"But I was assured before that fight that I won't lose my title," he added.

"Anyway, Van Heerden should fight me for that title. This fool went on Facebook and tried to make a name for himself by begging me for the fight through Facebook.

"All he had to do was pick up the phone and ask promoter Rodney Berman if he could fight me."

‘Special K’ is a clear favourite to beat N’dou and move on to bigger and better things, but will have to be weary of the veteran as he moves into the world-class territory at 147lbs. Brook is on the verge of becoming mandatory challenger to Manny Pacquiao and will have to step up to the plate if he ever want’s to face the ‘Pacman.’
