During a recent interview, promoter Lou DiBella let loose with some vicious holiday jeer, blasting usual suspects Bob Arum and WBC Leader For Life Don Jose Sulaiman, but then went an extra measure of hot, molten lava in blasting Mexico's two most popular younger fighters, scion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and 20 year old wunderkind Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
Those scoring at home may wish to note that Young Chavez is babied perpetually by Top Rank, Alvarez is continually mollycoddled by Golden Boy and that Uncle Lou's agenda is totally driven as an advocate of the real middleweight champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez.
DiBella, while ripping Arum and Sulaiman, went on to denigrate Chavez and Alvarez.
"I've said it before, Chavez Jr. is just some little punk, some kid who grew up a millionaire's son in Culiacan, a spoiled little punk and a spoiled little brat. I tell the truth about Chavez Jr. because he is deathly afraid of Sergio.
"As for Canelo, he is no better. Is he a big deal in Mexico? Yes, he is because of his skin coloring and his orange hair. If he was a more typical Mexican guy with dark hair and dark eyes, nobody would care about him."
