After Freddie Roach took on the task of training Oscar De La Hoya for his May 5 bout with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in Las Vegas, several of his fighters went scambling for help with their upcoming bouts. Peter Manfredo, Jr. will have Sugar Ray Leonard in his corner when he meets Joe Calzaghe in April, Manny Pacquiao will likely use Roach's assistant Justin Fortune for his own April bout, and Robert "the Ghost" Guerrero is bringing back his dad.

The Hollister Free Lance reports that Ruben Guerrero will return to the corner of "The Ghost" for his Feb. 23 bout against Spend Abazi in Denmark, with the vacant IBF featherweight title on the line.

"I am excited," said Guerrero. "I found out about two weeks ago that Freddie wouldn't be in my corner. But that's all right. I'm ready to go. That's the bottom line. My dad's been working with me since I was a little kid. I have confidence in him to get the job done in my corner. Every title fight I've been in, he's been in my corner."
