Lightweights Lorenzo Powell and Javier Rojas Campos headline boxing’s return to Oakland, California on Saturday at the Oakland Marriott City Center, and got the weekend off on the right foot by making weight.

Sacramento, California’s Powell weighed in at 136.8lbs, while Mexico’s Rojas Campos was slightly lighter at 135.4lbs, for their catchweight bout of 137lbs.

Powell, 4-0 (1 KO), will fight for the third time in 2025. The 22-year-old has yet to lose a round in his young career on any judges’ scorecards to this point. Rojas Campos, 3-4 (1 KO) and 27 years old, is coming in off a stoppage loss to Spencer Wilcox in December.

The co-feature saw amateur light heavyweight standout Kumar Prescod of Oakland, California, have a heated face-off with Michael Nelson of College Park, Georgia. Prescod, 18, exchanged some brief words with his 33-year-old upset-minded peer, Nelson, after both made weight.

Prescod, 3-0 (3 KOs), knocked out Rueben Johnson in May. Nelson, 4-2 (2 KOs), enters on a two-fight losing streak.
