A rowdy Mexican crowd was on their feet during the junior lightweight battle that saw Francisco "El Ahogado" Lorenzo (30-4, 14KOs) win a close ten-round decision over Guadalupe "Bronco" Rosales (25-2, 15KOs) at the Utopia Paradise Theater in the Bronx. The scores were 96-94, 96-94 and 97-93.

In the co-feature, lightweight Argenis Mendez (9-0, 6KOs) won an easy eight-round decision over the durable Jorge Ruiz (5-3-1, 0KOs). The scores were 80-67 across the board. Mendez started slow, but quickly picked up the pace in the later rounds, sending Ruiz down four times. Mendez looked sharp in the fight. The only negative was his inability to put his opponent away, he hurt Ruiz at various points of the fight and allowed him to escape danger.

Heavyweight Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson (17-0-1, 6KOs), a late addition to the show, won a six-round decision over Andrew Greeley (13-19-2, 7KOs) in a keep busy fight. The scores were 60-54 across the board.
