With much fan fare and hoopla, it was announced on Saturday night - after Saul Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) had easily disposed of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr - that 'Canelo' would be facing IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) on September 16th.

According to Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 - "We agreed on most everything from the beginning. We just had a few small details to work out. But on big fights like this the small details take a long time to work out. So we got it done just a couple of days ago this week and then we were hoping everything worked out with 'Canelo' winning and not getting injured."

Many fans are now wondering just where this fight will take place and when tickets will go on sale.

"Those are all details to be worked out but that's where we're going to put our heads together with Golden Boy and see what is out there. This is a huge fight where there's so many venues that want to host this fight,'' said Loeffler, who mentioned the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (which hosted this weekends event), Madison Square Garden in New York and AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, as possible sites for this promotion.

2017 continues to be a strong one for the sport and business of boxing.

"Absolutely, when you have fights like (Wladimir) Klitschko-(Anthony) Joshua and you get fights like 'Triple G' and 'Canelo' - it's a great year. Not only for boxers but for the sport of boxing and I think this is the type of year the fans win by seeing these type of fights," said Loeffler, who's company will have been involved in both events.
