A pair of unbeaten middleweight prospects will clash in Los Angeles on October 15 when Donyil Livingston fights Kurtiss Colvin in a six-rounder on the Bernard Hopkins-Chad Dawson undercard.
“It’s going to be a step up in competition,” Livingston said.
After a well-decorated amateur career that included a subsequent long hiatus, the 27-year-old Livingston from Palmdale, Calif., started his pro career 5-0 with three knockouts before incurring a split draw with Roberto Yong three weeks ago.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Colvin (6-0, 5 KOs), from Austin, Tex., has racked up six straight wins since turning pro 18 months ago, with the last one being a second-round knockout of Cleven Ishe in July. This bout will mark his first six-rounder.
The card will be promoted by Golden Boy in association with Gary Shaw.
