The body of former WBC Youth flyweight champion Lito Sisnorio who died following brain surgery after a brutal fourth round knockout at the hands of former world champion Chatchai Sasakul in Thailand last Friday was scheduled to arrive this evening aboard Philippine Airlines flight 731 from Bangkok.
GAB chairman Eric Buhain informed Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that Sisnorio’s remains would be held in cargo for his connecting flight Friday morning at 5:00 a.m. to General Santos City.
Buhain disclosed that Thai promoter Virat and matchmaker Panya paid for the expenses and were assisted by the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok through Ambassador Rodriguez.
Buhain said he was having problems getting a flight to GenSan because its fully booked but he is still trying.
Buhain disclosed that the boxer's insurance which we learned amounted to around P135,000 would be transmitted within two weeks.
