Light heavyweight Lionell Thompson (12-0) of Buffalo will get the opportunity to reconnect with his fans on March 31. He will take part in a card being staged at the Convention Center in Buffalo, as the headliner. It will be the first since 2009 that Thompson fought in Buffalo. He recently signed a promotional agreement with Hennessy Canada.
On the upcoming show, he will attempt to get his hands on the vacant NABA belt when he faces Azea Augustama (11-1-0), a Haitian resident of Florida. Since he joined Hennessy Canada, Thompson has fought in Ontario, England, and twice in Quebec.
Furthermore, three Ontarians boxers are scheduled for the card. Lightweight Ibrahim Kaml of Toronto (7-0-0), middleweight Brandon Cook (5-0-0) and lightweight Steve Wilcox (1-0-0). The three of them recorded victories on Feb. 11, competing at the event held at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
