Caracas - Venezuelan boxer Jorge "Golden Boy" Linares has set his return for October 24 in Tokyo, Japan against Mexican veteran Jesus "Matador" Chavez. It was announced by Teiken Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions, the co-promoters of Linares.

Chavez, a former champion, has a record of 44 wins, 30 of them by the fast route, and seven defeats.

For his part, Linares has 29 wins, with a loss, and 18 knockouts. His last bout was against the experienced Rocky Juarez on July 31 in Las Vegas, which he won with a unanimous decision.

Linares returned to Tokyo after the Juarez fight, and under the direction of Sendai Tanaka, stays in the gym getting ready for the confrontation in October.

The meeting between Chavez vs Linares will be at 132 pounds, on the same card where Japan's Toshiaki Nishioka will face Rendall Munroe.
