Super middleweight contender Librado Andrade was last seen in the ring this past May when he lost a majority decision to Aaron Pryor Jr. The former title challenger was not happy with his performance and acknowledged that it was a very ugly fight. Andrade advised BoxingScene.com that he is looking to return to the ring in August in his native Mexico.
"I am planning on fighting on August 27th in Mexico. I need to be more active. I haven't had enough fights the past few years," said Andrade.
Librado said that after his fight in August that he would like to fight any of the title holders in the super middleweight division. A while back the idea of Andrade facing former middleweight king Kelly Pavlik had been mentioned. With the recent thawing of the cold war between Golden Boy Promotions (Andrade's promoter) and Top Rank (Pavlik's promoter), such a fight could actually become a possibility. If it can be arranged Andrade said that he is all for it. "I would love to fight Kelly Pavlik. I think our styles would make for a very good fight."
Pavlik is scheduled to face Darryl Cunningham on August 6th in his hometown of Youngstown, OH. Pavlik is then supposed to face IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute in November provided he gets past Cunningham.
