Former bantamweight title holder Leo Santa Cruz (24-0-1, 14KOs) made his junior featherweight debut a success when he knocked out Alexander Muñoz on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las vegas.

BoxingScene.com caught up with Santa Cruz shortly after the fight to talk about his future plans. Santa Cruz mentioned that he would like to fight newly crowned WBC super bantamweight champion Victor Terrazas (37-2-1, 21KOs).

"I wanted to fight the winner of Mijares versus Terrazas before they fought and now that Terrazas won I would love to fight him but I leave that up to my manager and promoter," Santa Cruz revealed.

Santa Cruz had a busy 2012 going 5-0. This was his first fight of the year and he said that he wants to be very active through the remainder of the year.

"I wanted to fight in March but my team told me to wait because they would have a big opportunity for me and I am thankful for that. I want to get back in the ring soon. I think I can fight three or maybe four more times this year," Santa Cruz stated.

Next time Santa Cruz steps in the ring he said that he hopes to face an elite fighter. He said that he is ready for anyone out there.

"I think I am ready for any type of fighter they put in front of me. I would love a step up fight and face one of the best guys in my division," said Santa Cruz in closing.
