Santa Cruz is chalked to face Puerto Rican, Cesar Seda Jr. (25-1, 17KOs) as part of the undercard to the fight between Adrien Bronner and Marcos “Chino” Maidana.
This will be Santa Cruz’ first defense of the WBC title he conquered via KO, over Victor Terrazas last August in Carson, California.
With tradition and geography very much in mind Leo stressed: “I’m training very hard because I’m aware this will be a very tough battle.... like all fights between Puerto Rico vs Mexico.”
Santa Cruz, who holds an impressive record of 25-0-1 and 15 KO’s, says everything has gone to plan in an excellent training camp.
“I feel strong, and I’ve been very dedicated to my training, so I plan and I also hope I can beat Seda” he explained.
