BoxingScene has gotten the needed confirmation to what will be the biggest story of the year. Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis is coming out of retirement to face WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko.

There has been no date set for the fight, there is no venue, the fight should land around mid-year and the financial numbers for the bout are nearing $39 million dollars. Lennox said that he could not turn that kind of money down.

Lewis has not fought since his 2003 bout with Vitali Klitschko. Lewis stopped Klistchko in 6 rounds due to severe cuts on the face of Klitschko. Klitschko had Lewis in all sorts of trouble during the bout and was leading on the score cards at the time of the stoppage.

Fans have been dying to find out what would of happened between the two men if the ring doctor did not stop the fight. Lewis retired right after the Klitschko bout, making the rematch impossible. Vitali went on to make his own name in the heavyweight division, he destroyed Kirk Johnson, defeated South African Corrie Sanders for the vacant WBC heavyweight title Lewis left behind and recently crushed Danny Williams.

Lewis made comments to the UK press that he is coming back strong to settle the score with Klitschko once and for all.

"I've had to listen to a lot of rubbish from Klitschko and he is starting to get on my nerves I'm making a comeback later this year. The money is up to 21 million pounds ($39.3 million US) right now and I simply can't turn that much cash down. said Lewis

"I'm going to start training seriously and I'm going back to England to start sorting this out. I need the money just like everyone else and it's just too good to turn down."

Bernd Boente, who is the manager of Vitali Klitschko was on BBC Radio Five Live and said that Klitschko is ready.

"I have talked to Vitali and he's happy to go."
