Promoter Yvon Michel confirmed to BoxingScene.com that middleweight contender David Lemieux (25-1-0) will return to the ring in December. Based on the continued negotiations, he could face a boxer who is very well known to fans of Quebec - former WBA junior middleweight champion Joachim Alcine (32-2-1).

"Lou DiBella has Joachim under contract, and we expressed our interest in that fight. Last week it was determined that we would go ahead in December with David. As he is currently ranked third by the WBC, it will involve a twelve round fight and he will defend his WBC International belt. Joachim is a former world champion, and its the type of fight that could draw significant interest. Our discussions with DiBella are progressing well and we are on the same page with a lot of the points. Also, DiBella is the promoter of a boxer who could very well become the next opponent for Adonis Stevenson."

During the course of these negotiations, Lemieux and Stevenson could find themselves on the same card in December.
