New York City - Abel Sanchez, the trainer for WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs), predicted a knockout victory in four rounds when his fighter takes on IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31KOs) later tonight at Madison Square Garden.
The Canadian boxer is a big underdog and the entire HBO Pay-Per-View event, for the most part, has been built around the pound-for-pound rise of Golovkin.
Both fighters a big knockout hitters and have the ability to end the contest with a single hard shot.
Lemieux was surprised with Sanchez's prediction and vowed to make the veteran coach eat his comments later tonight by pulling off an upset victory.
"I don't pay attention to what he says, because I'm not fighting Abel Sanchez - I'm fighting Golovkin. He can say what he wants. He wants to boost up his fighter. To me it makes no difference. Some trainers they get overexcited and they want to start talking for their fighters. [Tonight] is me against Golovkin and his trainer is going to swallow his words if that's what he said," Lemieux said.
