Leija-Walker Clash Tops Hybrid Card in Texas City

Savarese Boxing Promotions will stage a hybrid boxing/MMA card at the Charles T. Doyle Convention Center in Texas City on Saturday.

In Boxing:

Juan Leija (9-1-1, 3 KOs) defends his Texas flyweight title against Cody Walker (1-2).

Heavyweight Eugene Hill (29-1, 20 KOs) takes on Jamal Woods (6-15-3, 6 KOs).

Robert Silva (5-0, 4 KOs) faces Billy Cunningham (6-25-1, 5 KOs) in a cruiserweight bout.

Lightweight Larry Carillo (5-0, 2 KOs) takes on Jonathan O'Neal (1-2).

Featherweight Armando Fausto (2-0, 2 KOs) fights Omar Villazana (0-2).

Alberto Robles (3-1, 1 KO) takes on Aaron Anderson (3-34, 1 KO) in a welterweight bout.

Heavyweight Jeremy Hardy (1-0,) faces Jonathan Banks (debut).

And Gabriel Smith (debut) takes on Joshua Fuller (debut) in a junior lightweight bout.

In MMA:

Mayura Dissanayake faces Nicolas Escheverry at 170 pounds.

Charles Cheeks III takes on Bobby Hill at 145 pounds.

Dissanayake made the headlines last year when he punched, kicked and knocked out a thug trying to rob the Houston gas station where he worked as a clerk. Security camera footage of the foiled robbery subsequently went viral on the internet.
