Lee Selby is set to face his mandatory challenger next.

But Barros was withdrawn from the contest prior to the weigh-in after failing the medical requirements of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Selby, who stopped Andoni Gago inside nine rounds at the O2 Arena in London on March 4, is now promotionally a free agent but has a managerial agreement with powerful adviser Al Haymon.

And the 30-year-old Welshman (24-1, 9 KOs) looks scheduled to face the Argentine (41-4-1, 22 KOs) after a purse bid, which the IBF told BBC Wales Sport is set for April 13.

The Barros fight must be staged within 90 days after the purse bids.

Barros' camp have stated in various interviews that they would like to stage the fight in Mendoza, Argentina.

It had been thought that Selby was in the running to face Carl Frampton, the former Super WBA featherweight champion, before the IBF’s ruling.

Boxing Scene understands that further details will be revealed in due course.
