British & Commonwealth king Lee McGregor will continue to keep himself in top shape as the COVID-19 pandemic rumbles on.

The undefeated ‘Lightning’ had been due to star on the undercard of Josh Taylor’s homecoming unified world title fight against Apinun Khongsong in Glasgow on May 2 only for the card to be postponed amid global health concerns.

As he awaits news of his return, McGregor (8-0, 6 KOs) is grateful not to have begun the weight cut phase of his training camp.

McGregor told Sky Sports News: “Making weight for a boxer is the hardest part about this game. Fighting is the easy part!

“For me, anyway, making weight is really tough and I’m glad I never really got to that stage in this camp.

“Now there’s clarity, I can keep training and ticking over. I can also enjoy my training. I can get into the training but also enjoy my food, which is what I like.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. We have to obviously just keep taking advice from my management MTK Global and see what’s what.”

McGregor added the British strap to his Commonwealth bantamweight title with a classic points win over Kash Farooq last time out.
