Dean Harrison's trainer has warned Frankie Gavin that he could get beaten on December 11.
Gavin challenges for the WBO Intercontinental light-welterweight title against his fellow Midlander at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
Funtime Frankie is a big betting favourite - but Harrison's camp believe he can cause an upset.
"There's a few people i've spoken with and they don't see it all going Frankie's way, people in the game - they've all said similar things after seeing Dean in the gym," trainer Lee Beard told Sky Sports.
"Those 10 rounds with Nigel Wright are going to stand him in good stead for this fight - there were a lot of demons in his head before that fight.
"One of those were being dropped by southpaws and he told me he has got over that now, all he's got to do is carry on where he left off.
"The big factor in this fight is Dean's mentality. If he goes in there confident, which he is, he can win this fight.
"It's definitely Frankie's biggest test but obviously Dean's been in with better pros than Gavin.
"Dean was also a good amateur, and he put up a good fight against McCloskey, who also had a tough fight with Nigel Wright - so you can't say Frankie is Dean's biggest fight.
"Obviously it's a tough fight for Dean. Frankie is a brilliant fighter, fast hands, fast feet. He gets in and out very quick, so Dean's got to make sure he's not running on to shots.
"At the end of the day everybody's got weaknesses and I think Dean can exploit them.
"The question is can Frankie keep up the pace for 10 rounds like Dean did against Wright. He's not had to do that yet."
