At the MEN Arena in Manchester, Denis Lebedev (18-0, 13 KOs) battered former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli (29-4, 22 KOs) over three rounds to force a stoppage. Prior to the contest, Macca promised to retire if he lost the bout. It was the third knockout loss for Macca in his last four fights.

After being outclassed for the most of the three rounds, an vicious uppercut in the third had Macca in trouble, and forced referee Terry O'Connor to jump in as Lebedev battered him against the ropes with multiple combinations.

"It looks like it [retirement], I'm just devastated," said Maccarinelli. "I don't think I've got it any more."
