A cruiserweight unification between Russian stablemates Grigory Drozd (39-1, 27 KOs) and Denis Lebedev (26-2, 20 KOs) is not likely to happen any time soon. Both boxers were involved in a doubleheader on Saturday in Moscow, Drozd capture the WBC title with a twelve round decision win over Krzysztof Wlodarczyk. Lebdev retained the WBA's version of the belt with a two round KO of Pawel Kolodziej.
When Lebdev was approached about the subject of facing Drozd, he stated "Me and Grigory? I don't think so."
World of Boxing promoter Andrei Ryabiński, who has both champions in his stable, was also against the match.
"I'm positive this is not going to happen in the near future," Ryabinski said.
