Pedrito Laurente of the Philippines has captured the Pan Asia Boxing Association bantamweight title with a smashing second round knockout over South Korea’s Palman Shin in Seoul.

A product of the stable of Johnny Elorde, one of the son’s of the late world junior lightweight champion Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, Laurente  proved far too good for his Korean opponent . Laurente caught Shin early in the first round with a series of solid blows before dropping him twice late in the round.

Laurente kept the pressure on his hapless opponent and hammered him at will forcing referee Chalerm Prayadsad to stop the massacre at :22 seconds of round two.

Laurente was coming off a unanimous ten round decision over Toshiaki Nishioka last September 4 and improved his record to 7-9 with 3 knockouts.
